| At left. Shalom! I am Judy Wallace, and I’m a heritage interpreter and history scholar living, working, and studying in Israel. I live an Orthodox Jewish life, and I am committed to an institute that welcomes a broad community of learners. My faith grounds my integrity, and our doors remain open to all who seek thoughtful engagement with Jewish culture and democratic values. |
Commitment to Democratic Values
The Institute grounds its work in democratic principles that guide all educational and public activities:
- Religious Pluralism: The Institute respects diverse Jewish and non-Jewish communities and conducts its programs without pressuring others toward religious conformity.
- Freedom of Conscience: The Institute safeguards each individual’s right to maintain their own beliefs and does not use any program to influence another person’s religious identity.
- Scholarly Distinction Between Religion and Culture: The Institute’s work draws on academic methods that distinguish religious doctrine from cultural expression, ensuring that programs explore Jewish history, arts, and ideas without promoting religious adoption.
Individuals representing the Institute do not distribute materials that promote religious change, initiate conversations about conversion, or answer questions in ways that could be interpreted as encouraging a shift in faith identity. Yehudit Institute is an educational and cultural initiative and we unequivocally reject any attempts to proselytize and will not associate with any institution that proselytizes.
